About Us

Wolf Creek Contracting is a commercial and industrial general contractor headquartered outside Marietta, Ohio. Since 2008 we've built across three divisions — general contracting, concrete, and civil/site work — self-performing most major trades rather than brokering the work out. We run jobs throughout Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.

We run by one standard, in this order: Safety, Quality, Production. Our EMR is 0.47, and we intend to keep it there.

The Role

We're hiring Commercial Carpenters to work on our self-perform crews. Because we self-perform, our carpenters don't get boxed into one repetitive scope — you'll form and pour concrete, frame and finish, set doors and hardware, and build what the job calls for. If you like variety and want to keep adding trades to your name, this is a good seat.

Work is steady and year-round. We keep our people busy.

What You'll Do

• Form, brace, strip, and set concrete formwork — footers, walls, columns, slabs, and elevated decks
• Set and tie rebar, place embeds and anchor bolts, assist with pours and finishing
• Frame metal stud and wood-framed walls, soffits, and bulkheads
• Hang and finish drywall, install ceiling grid, and complete interior build-out
• Hang doors, frames, and hardware; install millwork, casework, and specialties
• Build and set stairs, handrails, blocking, and miscellaneous rough carpentry
• Perform layout from prints — lines, elevations, and dimensions you can be held to
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools, lasers, and layout equipment safely
• Build and dismantle scaffolding and work platforms per competent-person direction
• Participate in daily huddles, JHAs, and toolbox talks; keep the work area clean and safe
• Follow ICRA containment protocols on healthcare projects (training provided)
• Keep pace with the schedule the Superintendent sets — and speak up early when something won't hit

What You Bring

Required

• 2+ years of commercial construction carpentry experience (residential-only experience considered for strong candidates willing to learn commercial standards)
• Ability to read a tape to 1/16", work from prints, and hold layout
• Concrete formwork experience — this is core to our work
• Comfortable working at heights, in trenches, and in all weather
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stay on your feet through a full shift
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the yard or job site
• Willingness to travel — jobs regularly run an hour or more from Marietta, with per-diem work in our multi-state footprint
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening and meet client site requirements

Preferred

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Completed apprenticeship or trade school program
• Doors/frames/hardware and finish carpentry experience
• Metal stud framing and drywall finishing
• Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification
• Welding, rigging, or equipment operation experience
• ICRA certification or healthcare construction background
• Your own hand tools

Travel Expectations

Our work radiates out from the Marietta/Mid-Ohio Valley region. Most projects sit within a one- to two-hour drive, and some run further into our multi-state footprint with per-diem and lodging covered. Candidates must be genuinely willing to travel beyond an hour from Marietta. If you need to be home every night by 4:30, this isn't the right fit — better we're straight with each other now.
